Premier Community have recently been working with AgeUk Nottingham & Nottinghamshire to deliver shoeboxes this month containing some festive goods. These will be delivered to those who might be lonely or on a low income this Christmas.
The number of over-50s experiencing loneliness is set to reach two million by 2025/6. This compares to around 1.4 million in 2016/7 – a 49% increase in 10 years (Age UK 2018, All The Lonely People). If you want to donate, Fund raise or volunteer – check out AgeUK’s website www.ageuk.org.uk/notts/get-involved
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated a box or shared our posts to spread awareness in our local areas. Here’s a couple of picture of people/organisations who have helped with our appeal this Christmas.
Firstly, here’s Vernon Thompson, delivery gifts on Sherwood Colliery Ability Counts Football Clubs behalf.
We also had a couple of little helpers with Martha and George!
Again, thank you to everyone who helped, and have a great Christmas!
