Kadie Warren is our Care Branch Manager for South Notts
Not one for putting herself in the spotlight, I finally convinced Kadie to share some details about her career journey with Premier Community.
When did you start working for Premier Community?
“I previously worked for Premier Community as a carer and left for career progression; however, in December 2023, I returned to Premier to start work as a care co-ordinator.”
Tell us about your journey to becoming the South Nottinghamshire Care Branch Manager…
“I started working in care when I was 18, working in a learning disability home. I did this for 9 years, and I loved it. I worked my way up to a senior carer but wanted to try other types of care, so I moved to the city hospital as an HCA for around 3 years. This gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about catheter care and wound care. I then went into home care and fell in love with the home care side of things. I love to help people and ensure they can remain as independent as possible and remain in their own homes. I have always wanted to better myself in my career, and it was my goal to become a registered manager. With this in mind, I completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and went to night college to do my maths. When I saw the job come up, I was already working for Premier Community as a care coordinator, and I just knew I had to go for it. I had nothing to lose but a lot to gain.
Do you hold any qualifications in Health & Social Care?
“I have done both my level 2 and 3 in health and social care, and I am currently doing my level 5 in health and social care management”
Can you describe a typical day for you with Premier Community?
“A typical day for me at Premier Community involves making sure every service user receives personalised care and feels safe and well-supported. I also ensure staff are following the correct procedures and that all care plans are kept up-to-date. When needed, I submit referrals to help clients remain safe at home and receive the highest standard of care. Additionally, I regularly liaise with other care and medical professionals involved in a service user’s support.”
What do you enjoy most about working at Premier Community?
“The thing I love about being a manager is ensuring each client gets the best possible care tailored to them to ensure they remain independent and within their own home. Being a family-run business, the main priority is to ensure the clients are cared for in the best possible way, whilst maintaining our promise that each care plan is person-centred to the individual.
“The company always have the staff’s best interests at heart, and they go above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels included, supported and connected to the rest of the team.”
Tell us a bit about yourself outside of work…
“I have been with my partner Daniel for 10 years, we are engaged, and I have three girls – the eldest is my step-daughter Elloise, who is 18, then I have a 15-year-old called Layla and an 8-year-old called Minnie. All three girls are very strong-minded, they know what they want and how to make sure they get it! We enjoy going to the cinema and playing mini golf, we also go to Skegness every year for a long weekend, the girls are all thrill seekers and really enjoy the rides.
