Premier Community Careers
Become a carer with us
The day-to-day role of a community carer can be challenging and varied, but those new to care often never look back once they start on this career path.
As I’m sure you can imagine, having the opportunity to positively impact an individual and their relatives’ lives, is immensely rewarding. This, combined with the extensive training and ongoing support from our regional care teams and central management, is why so many of our carers have stayed with us for over 10 years.
As each of our care plans are personalised to address the service user’s specific needs, no two visits are likely to be the same. However, these are the standardised duties we expect our carers to be involved in day-to-day:
- Make visits to clients in their homes using your own vehicle
- Help Premier Community’s clients meet their desired outcomes from our service.
- Help with personal care such as washing and showering
- Cook and serve meals and drinks
- Help with medications
- Support with day day-to-day living and domestic chores
- Recording visits live with our digital care planning system

Why we care
Sally's story
Joining a company like Premier Community is about so much more than being just another carer; it’s about becoming part of our family and working somewhere that listens to, values, and nurtures our employees.
Lead Community Carer and Assistant Trainer Sally Sheldon joined us as a carer in March 2020.
Sally’s commitment to her service users and passion for helping others was evident from the start. Just one year later, she was promoted to Lead Community Carer. In this role, she offered support, help, and advice to other carers in her area and assisted with new package set-ups and reviews for our service users.
In 2023, Sally was given the opportunity to become our Assistant Trainer and now helps to deliver an engaging in-house training programme alongside our Workforce Development Manager, Amanda Winnard.
I started out 21 years ago working for Derbyshire County Council in Domiciliary care. I enjoyed every minute of it until things started to change, and I became unhappy in my role.
I knew I had to leave and started looking at reviews from other companies, but what drew me to Premier Community was the fact that it was a family-run business, and there was the opportunity to progress if I wanted to.
