Great British Care Awards 2024: Premier Community Nominees Part 2

Great British Care Awards 2024: Premier Community Nominees Part 2

As well as celebrating our amazing carers and Home Care co- Ordinator’s we would like to celebrate two of our team nominations one being The three ‘R’S’ Award.

The Recruitment Team: The three ‘R’S’ Award

The three ‘R’s category recognises organisations and individuals who have adopted an innovative approach to Recruitment, Retention and Recognition.  The Great British Care Awards are looking for examples of strategies that recruit on values, promote diversity and inclusion, value and recognise excellence in the workplace and retain a highly motivated and skilled workforce.

And we believe our recruitment team exhibit these exceptionally. Premier Community has experienced significant growth this year, providing 1500 more hours of service within the same geographical area compared to the previous year. This success can be attributed to fresh approaches in recruitment, retention, and recognition.

The community has built upon previous years’ growth by implementing initiatives such as “Star of the Month,” “Wonderful Wednesdays”, and “New staff welcomes”.

We’ve also been fostering greater team connectivity. Premier Community has emphasised in-person meetings within the community, restructuring team meetings to ensure that every team member feels valued and that positive and serious matters are discussed with respect and dignity.

The community believes its core values and culture are the foundation of its teams’ success. These efforts have enabled the recruitment team to support new staff better, significantly improving retention rates.

The total headcount has increased from 436 to over 550 employees. In addition to cultural improvements, Premier Community has introduced a new mental health tool accessible to all staff.

Through regular reminders, mental health first-aid training, and management training we now have a robust procedure to support frontline care workers dealing with stress and mental health issues. Staff members have remarked about the supportive network around them.

With the changes above, our recruitment team has been able to support new staff in joining a real community of like-minded and kind-hearted carers. The team has focused on value-based recruitment to ensure we are hiring staff who align with the wider community values.

We have taken on training to support equality and diversity and strengthened our screening process to ensure we are hiring safe, caring, and compassionate carers. Our growth and ability to provide life-changing care are due to great recruitment and an improved community culture.

Premier Community: The Care Employer Award

Lastly, we are delighted to also announce that Premier Community are up for The Care Employer Award. This award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate employers’ commitment to care and how this is achieving success in delivering an excellent service.

Employers should be able to demonstrate considerable acumen and entrepreneurial flair whilst at the same time having a sustained track record of delivering high quality care and managing improvement. Is just one area of various different points of the criteria to meet to be a nominee.

With our mission being to provide the very best care centred around the individual. Our method is to do this as one united community built on respect for each role and a passion to do our best. Our family values and drive to deliver for our communities ensure that our mission is achievable.

We want to conclude with congratulating all the above nominees for being short listed for their categories, even within a competitive industry we had no doubt our staff would shine and get to the next stage. We would like to also wish everyone the best of luck for the awards ceremony next week and again express our pride to you all.
