Being shortlisted for Home Care Employer of the Year is more than an award nomination for us — it’s recognition of the incredible people, values, and culture that make Premier Community what it is.
When Dan and I (Tim) sat down for the nominee interview, our goal was simple: shine a light on the real stars of Premier Community — our teams. From the very start, we wanted the judges to see that everything we do begins and ends with the people delivering care in our communities every day.
Care Governed by Family, Delivered With Heart
Premier Community was founded by our mum 29 years ago — built on family values, compassion, and a belief that care should always be personal. Today, those roots still guide everything we do.
In the interview, we spoke about the family governance we’ve put in place to ensure our care is always delivered with heart. The frameworks, communication channels, and support structures don’t exist for the sake of process — they exist to allow our teams to go above and beyond safely, confidently, and consistently.
The Systems Behind Outstanding Care
We highlighted the mechanisms that help our staff deliver exceptional person-centred care every day.
These include:
systems that respond quickly when a service user’s needs change
tools that allow us to update and improve care plans instantly
processes that support carers through complex situations
frameworks that ensure every voice is heard — from new starters to senior managers
These systems aren’t about bureaucracy; they’re about empowerment. They ensure carers have the information, guidance, and confidence they need to provide top-quality, personalised care.
A Year of Growth, Strength, and Teamwork
This has been one of the most transformational years in our history.
We are now over 100 people larger than we were at this time last year — growth that hasn’t happened by chance.
We believe this is the result of:
a supportive, values-led culture
great people choosing to work together
leaders who listen and invest in their teams
colleagues lifting one another up
and a shared belief in delivering care the right way
People are joining Premier Community — and staying — because they feel part of something meaningful.
Stories That Show the Heart of Premier Community
The nomination judges asked what makes our organisation special. Instead of giving them grand statements, we shared the real stories that define us:
Carers helping Naj walk again, step by step, through skill, patience, and unwavering encouragement.
Teams providing consistent, stabilising care that helps people living with dementia feel safe, connected, and understood.
Staff across the business — from Dronfield to Swadlincote — supporting individuals through some of the hardest moments of their lives with dignity and compassion.
From the field teams changing lives at the frontline to the office staff quietly keeping everything running behind the scenes, every person plays a part in making Premier Community exceptional.
We couldn’t provide a single minute of care without them.
A Nomination That Belongs to All of Us
This nomination is not about a company or a name. It’s about the people who make Premier Community what it is:
carers who stay until 2am so someone isn’t alone
coordinators who hold teams together through the toughest weeks
managers who lead with honesty and heart
trainers who build confidence and belonging
office teams who solve problems before anyone even sees them
Our teams are the reason families trust us.
They are the reason our organisation keeps growing.
They are the reason we were nominated for Home Care Employer of the Year.
Honouring 29 Years of Care
As a family-run organisation, this moment means a great deal to us. Our mum set up Premier Community nearly three decades ago with a simple idea: care should feel like family.
To see how far we’ve come — and to know that her values still shape every visit, every conversation, and every act of care — is incredibly special.
This nomination isn’t just recognition of the last 12 months.
It’s recognition of 29 years of dedication, compassion, and commitment from every single person who has ever worn a Premier Community badge.
Looking Ahead
Whether we bring home the award or not, we already feel proud. This nomination celebrates the heart of Premier Community: our people.
From Dronfield to Swadlincote, from our longest-serving employees to our newest recruits — thank you. Your work changes lives every single day.
