This autumn, our Premier Community Care team came together for a cause close to our hearts — a harvest food collection supporting StoreHouse Foodbank in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
What started as a simple idea from our Training Manager, Sally, turned into a whole-company effort that perfectly captures what we’re all about: family values, community spirit, and care in action.
For weeks, staff from across our North Nottinghamshire branches have been collecting food donations — from tins and pasta to breakfast cereals and tea — to help local families who need a little extra support right now.
Supporting Our Local Community — Together
We were delighted to welcome Gill Isterling, Premier Community’s founder and now lead at StoreHouse Foodbank, into HQ to collect the donations and thank our staff for their amazing contribution.
Gill said: “We were thrilled to find out that Premier Community was doing a collection. It’s something we’re always looking for. The donations will make a big difference to our local community. Thank you to every single person who gave.”
For us, this moment felt truly special. Gill built Premier Community on the belief that good care starts with good people, and that means looking after not just those we care for, but also the wider community around us.
That belief is still at the heart of everything we do today. Whether we’re providing home care across Nottinghamshire or supporting local initiatives like the StoreHouse Foodbank, we’re proud to be a family-run business that gives back.
Small Acts of Kindness, Big Impact
Among the many generous donations, one stood out to us all. One of our carers chose to spend her Star of the Month reward on food for the harvest collection; a simple act of kindness that shows exactly why she earned that recognition in the first place.
Moments like these remind us that care isn’t just a profession, it’s a mindset, a way of living. Our team shows, time and again, that Premier Community Care is more than a workplace, it’s a family that truly cares.
Thank You to Our Premier Community Care Family
A huge thank you goes to Sally, who sparked this wonderful idea, and to every member of our team who contributed so generously. Your kindness and compassion will make a real difference for people in our local area this harvest season.
When Gill visited HQ to collect the donations, she said what we were all thinking:
“This isn’t just about food; it’s about community, compassion, and doing what’s right.”
And we couldn’t agree more. As a local, family-run care provider based in North Nottinghamshire, we’re proud to support the communities we live and work in. From home care services to community initiatives like this one, our goal remains the same — to improve the lives of local people.
