Meet Dayna Lowe, Live-In Care Manager

Premier Community Live-In Care Manager Dayna Lowe

Meet Dayna, our caring and dedicated Live-In Care Manager. With a passion for making a positive difference that began during her school work experience, she has spent over eight years supporting people in various care roles. Dayna loves getting to know each client personally and works hard to ensure they receive compassionate, tailored care that helps them stay happy, safe, and comfortable at home.

We caught up with Dayna to find out more about her career in care:

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in care management?
A: “I’ve always felt that a career in care was my calling. It started back in school when I did work experience in a residential home supporting people with dementia. That experience made me realise how rewarding it is to make a positive difference in someone’s life. From there, I went straight into my first full-time care role after college and have been passionate about care ever since.”

Q: How long have you worked in the care sector, and what roles have you held?
A: “I started full-time in 2015 and have worked in a variety of roles, including receptionist/administrator, care coordinator, emergency response officer and team leader, live-in carer, and now Live-In Care Manager.”

Q: What qualifications or training do you hold?
A: “I am nearly finished with my Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care and also hold Train the Trainer and Care Certificate qualifications.”

Q: What does your current role involve?
A: “As Live-In Care Manager, I oversee the full client journey—from recruitment and marketing, to consultations, assessments, care planning, carer matching, introductions, and ongoing home visits and spot checks. My goal is to ensure every client receives safe, compassionate, person-centred care.”

Q: Do you have any particular areas of expertise or interest?
A: “I specialise in live-in care, which covers a wide range of needs. Some clients require companionship, while others need complex care. Each package is unique, and I love tailoring support to the individual.”

Q: What is your personal approach to care?
A: “I always strive to be a compassionate person first. I believe care is most effective when it comes from a genuine desire to help and connect with people.”

Q: What do you find most rewarding about your work?
A: “Seeing a care package delivered in a person-centred way and noticing the real, positive impact it has on someone’s life is incredibly rewarding. I also love building relationships with clients and their families—it’s meaningful when they stay in touch even after my involvement ends.”

Q: Can you share a memorable experience that shaped your approach to care?
A: “During my school work experience, I spent a lot of time with a lady who had dementia. Months later, I ran into her, and she recognised me immediately. That moment showed me how meaningful genuine connection and compassion can be—even in small everyday interactions.”

Q: What do you enjoy outside of work?
A: “I enjoy shopping, spending time with my family, and travelling.”

Q: What are your hopes for the future of your service?
A: “I hope to build a strong, diverse pool of live-in carers, providing safe, compassionate care while creating a sense of community for clients—similar to the social opportunities in residential settings, like day trips and shared activities.”
