We would like to welcome Amber to the Premier Community Mobility team. Amber joined the Kingsmill team as Store Assistant early January this year. Amber brings with her a genuine passion for helping others, along with valuable retail experience and a personal understanding of the importance of mobility support.
Making a meaningful difference
Amber was drawn to the role because of the sense of purpose it offers. Working in a hospital environment and supporting people with their mobility needs really resonated with her, as she wanted a role where she could feel she was making a meaningful impact.
“I was convinced to apply for the role because I knew it would make me feel as though I was doing a purposeful job,” Amber explains. “Knowing I would be in the hospital and helping people from all walks of life really endeared me.”
One of the things Amber is most excited about in her new position is the opportunity to support customers directly and help improve their day-to-day lives.
“I’m really excited about having the opportunity to help people with any mobility needs and be able to feel like I’ve made a tangible difference to the customer’s life and wellbeing,” she says. “I’m also looking forward to developing my knowledge about the products and building relationships with customers.”
Settling into the Premier Community team
Since joining Premier Community, Amber says her onboarding experience has been incredibly positive. The training and support she has received from the team has helped her build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the products we provide.
“My onboarding has been nothing but a positive experience for me,” Amber says. “It has enabled me to develop my confidence talking to customers more and also learn more about how our products help people’s day-to-day lives, which I really enjoy.”
Learning about the different ways mobility equipment can support independence has been something Amber has particularly enjoyed as she settles into the role.
Experience that connects to the role
Before joining Premier Community, Amber worked in retail for a high-quality clothing company, where she developed strong customer service skills and experience supporting customers in finding the right products for their needs.
However, her connection to mobility and care comes from a much more personal place.
“I have previous retail experience at a high-quality clothing company,” Amber explains, “but my experience with mobility and care as a whole came from helping my grandparents with their mobility needs as they got older.”
“That meant I already had some familiarity with a lot of the products before I began working here.”
This personal experience has given Amber a deeper appreciation for how important the right support and equipment can be in helping people maintain their independence.
Get to know Amber
Outside of work, Amber has a strong creative side and a real passion for photography. It’s a hobby she invests a lot of time in, whether that’s practising behind the camera or learning more about the craft.
“In my free time, I’m a passionate photographer and spend a lot of my time investing in my hobby for photography,” she says. “Whether it’s taking photos or reading photography books, I’m always thinking about being behind the camera.”
Amber also enjoys gaming and spending time relaxing with her mum watching classic 90s films together.
Travel is another big passion for Amber and her mum. Together they’ve explored many destinations across the UK, including Devon, London, Liverpool, Manchester and Cambridge, as well as European cities such as Paris, Berlin, Santorini and Menorca.
“As part of my passion for photography, my mum and I are avid travellers,” Amber says. “We love exploring new places, whether it’s around the UK or travelling across Europe.”
