Moments that Matter: September 2026 

At Premier Community, we often say no moment is too small. September was full of the kind of moments that don’t make headlines but do make someone’s day: a smile on a sunny walk, freshly painted nails, a bedroom that finally feels like home again. 

Here are four moments our team shared with us this month. 

 
1. Out and about with Beth 

Beth now enjoys regular social visits with our team each week. Together they head out into her local community to get some fresh air, have a look around and see what’s going on nearby. 

For Beth, it’s simple: she tells us these trips make her happy. And for her carer Alexandra, seeing that smile is what it’s all about. 

It is lovely to see Beth’s smile when we are out.”

Later in the month, Beth’s visits took a creative turn. She’d been wanting to try painting and crafts for a while, so on one sunny social visit she and Alexandra went shopping for supplies. They then spent the afternoon painting and chatting together at a local country park. 

Alexandra summed it up perfectly: 

It’s so rewarding to see Beth happy and enjoying her time with us. It makes me proud of my job and I go home feeling very happy.”

2. A manicure with memories 

Jean has always taken pride in looking after herself, and for years that meant regular trips to the salon to have her nails done. So when Sylvia started painting Jean’s nails during her visits, it brought back something Jean had always loved. 

She can’t stop admiring the results, and she has a theory about why her nails are so lovely: 

I think that’s from playing the piano.”

It’s a small thing, but it helps Jean feel good about herself, and that matters. 

 
3. Making space to feel at home 

When Magdalena and Katie noticed that one of the people they support was struggling for room in her bedroom, they rolled up their sleeves. Together they reorganised the space so she could move around more easily and get a better night’s sleep in her own bed. 

She couldn’t believe how much space she had once they’d finished. Now she’s more comfortable and can enjoy her room the way it should be. 

It made her happy and more comfortable, and she can enjoy the space she’s got.”

4. A birthday to remember for Jean 

Jean celebrated her birthday this month, and Ciara made sure it felt special. Alongside spending time together to mark the occasion, Ciara washed and blow-dried Jean’s hair so she could look and feel her best on her big day. 

For Ciara, being there to share Jean’s birthday with her was what made the moment matter. 

 
Every moment counts 

These stories are a reminder of what care at home can look like: helping people stay connected to their community, hold on to the things they love, and feel comfortable in their own space.
