It’s hard to believe that just over a year ago, our Swadlincote care branch didn’t even exist. It began as a simple idea and a shared hope that Premier Community could make a genuine difference in this area, bringing its values of family, respect, dignity, trust, and innovation to communities across Swadlincote and South Derbyshire.
Today, that idea has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of. Under Sarah’s leadership, supported by Maggie and Jemma, the team has built a strong, caring service from the ground up. They now deliver around 400 hours of care every week, a huge achievement in such a short time.
A Team Built on Openness and Togetherness
What makes this team stand out isn’t just the numbers; it’s the culture they’ve built. From day one, Sarah and the team have focused on openness, honesty, and genuine teamwork. They share ideas, support one another, and celebrate every success, no matter how small. It’s a branch where everyone feels heard and valued, and that spirit of togetherness shines through in the care they deliver.
The Swadlincote care team live our values in a natural, everyday way. They treat people with dignity, they listen, and they do the right thing, even when no one is watching. That’s what makes the difference.

Making a Real Difference in the Community
In just one year, the Swadlincote team has already made an incredible local impact. They’ve helped people stay safe at home, recover from illness, and regain independence. Their work has reduced hospital admissions and improved well-being for countless individuals and families.
But it’s the stories that stay with you, a service user who’s gone from needing two carers to just one, thanks to their consistent support and encouragement; or a family member who shared, “They’ve given Mum her life back.”
Those moments are the true measure of success, and they happen every single day.
Living Our Values, Leading by Example
Sarah’s leadership is a perfect example of what we mean by family values in action. She leads with warmth, honesty, and humility, always putting people first. Under her guidance, the Swadlincote care team have become a model of what great care looks like, built not on hierarchy, but on shared purpose and mutual respect.
They’ve shown what’s possible when leadership and teamwork come together with shared values and a genuine commitment to doing good work.
Looking Ahead
As the Swadlincote team celebrate their first award nomination, it’s a great moment to reflect on how far they’ve come and how much potential lies ahead. Their care, dedication, and teamwork represent the very best of Premier Community.
To Sarah, Maggie, Jemma, and the whole Swadlincote care team: thank you, and congratulations. You haven’t just built a branch. You’ve built a caring community.
