The Great British Care Awards are a nationwide celebration of excellence in social care — and this year’s East Midlands ceremony was once again a powerful reminder of the compassion, dedication, and professionalism that define our sector.
Last night, our Premier Community team joined fellow care professionals at the Nottingham Conference Centre for an evening of recognition, celebration, and heartfelt pride. With 11 nominations across nine categories, it was an unforgettable occasion from start to finish.
Before diving into the details, here are our headline achievements:

An Evening to Celebrate Care
After weeks of anticipation (and more than a few pre-award nerves), the team arrived dressed to impress and ready to celebrate. From a brilliant George Michael tribute to an unexpectedly long conga line, the night was full of fun, but at its heart was something far more important: recognising the people who put others first every day.
Award Results & Our Remarkable Team
Home Care Employer Award – Highly Commended
The first category of the night for Premier Community was Home Care Employer of the Year, for which Dan and I had taken the lead in the interview process. We felt proud of what we shared, the culture our teams have built, the systems we’ve put in place to support them, and the values that sit at the heart of everything we do.
It was an incredibly strong field of six outstanding home care providers, and on this occasion, we were awarded Highly Commended, finishing in second place. We’re genuinely thrilled to be recognised in such a competitive category, and proud to stand alongside organisations doing great work across the region.
Best Home Care Worker – Zoe Beck (Winner)
Next came our first win of the evening.
Zoe Beck, nominated for Best Home Care Worker, took home the title — and we couldn’t be prouder. With 11 nominees in total, including our own Kerry Hibbert from the Derbyshire North team, it was a tough category. But Zoe’s compassion, patience, professionalism, and the way she supports both service users and colleagues made her a standout winner.
Premier Community last won this award in 2023 with Marie Brown, so reclaiming the title this year felt extra special.
Best Newcomer to Care – Megan Morris (Winner)
The Best Newcomer to Care award was significant for us, after Premier Community won it last year with Laura Thorpe in Amber Valley.
This year, we were proud to have two brilliant newcomers nominated — Sarah Robertson and Megan Morris, both of whom joined care from hospitality backgrounds and have taken to the role naturally and wholeheartedly.
We’re delighted to share that Megan Morris was announced as the 2025 winner, meaning Premier Community has retained this title for another year. Megan has made an extraordinary impact in a remarkably short time, and this recognition is thoroughly well-deserved.
Care Co-ordinator of the Year – Gemma Singleton (Winner)
A few minutes later came another proud moment for Premier Community, as Gemma Singleton was named Care Co-ordinator of the Year.
Gemma may have been playing it cool all evening and calming the rest of us down, but she was absolutely over the moon when her name was announced. She has worked tirelessly to build a united Nottinghamshire team, delivering high-quality care across a large area. Her leadership, organisation, and communication are a huge part of why the service runs so well.
A fantastic and very worthy winner.
The Three R’s Award – Molly Price (Winner)
Our final winner of the night was in The Three R’s Award, recognising outstanding contributions to Recruitment, Recognition and Retention.
Molly Price, a key leader within our recruitment team, was nominated for the award — and won. Sadly, Molly wasn’t well enough to attend on the night, so I collected the award on her behalf. We’ll be making sure she gets a proper celebration once she’s feeling better and back with us.
Molly’s work has strengthened recruitment, improved retention, and helped embed a culture where people feel valued from day one. This award couldn’t be more fitting.
A Night That Reminds Us Why We Care
All in all, it was an encouraging and memorable evening for Premier Community. We’re proud of every nominee, thrilled for our winners, and grateful to be recognised among so many inspiring individuals and organisations across the East Midlands.
The Great British Care Awards always remind you of something important: care is full of people who put others first every day. To sit in a room surrounded by compassion, commitment, and excellence is genuinely humbling and motivating.
To everyone who represented Premier Community on the night, to every nominee, and to every colleague back home supporting our communities daily: thank you. This celebration belongs to you.
