Act 8 of 30: Celebrating the Legends Who Built Premier Community

As part of our 30 for 30 campaign, we’re celebrating 30 years of Premier Community by recognising the people, stories and moments that have shaped who we are today. 

Some acts of kindness look forwards. 

This one looked back. 

Recently, we had the privilege of welcoming a group of very special guests back to Premier Community’s Head Office. They’re people who helped lay the foundations of the organisation we know today. You could call them our Legends of Premier. 

Among those joining us were our founder, Gill Isterling, alongside Jane Ashall, one of our very first Registered Managers who helped shape our care services during the early 2000s. 

We also welcomed Alison, who led and supported our busy cleaning services, coordinating more than 50 cleaners across the community each day, and Gill Hitch, our very first Cleaning Manager, who worked alongside Gill to establish a trusted domestic cleaning service from the very beginning. 

Joining them were two familiar faces who continue to play an important part in Premier Community today, Nic Cope and Becky Hale, both of whom have dedicated more than 15 years of service to our organisation. 

The group spent time exploring how Premier Community has evolved over the past three decades. From new technology and expanded services to meeting today’s teams, there was plenty to see, plenty to laugh about and, of course, plenty of stories from “the good old days.” 

While so much has changed since those early years, one thing has remained constant. 

People have always been at the heart of Premier Community. 

Every service we’ve introduced, every customer we’ve supported and every milestone we’ve celebrated has only been possible because of the dedication, passion and commitment of the people who came before us. 

This gathering wasn’t intended to recognise all of the legends who have shaped Premier Community over the past 30 years. That would be impossible. 

Instead, it represented the hundreds of colleagues, past and present, who have each played their part in building the organisation we proudly call Premier Community today. 

Following their visit to Head Office, the group enjoyed a well-earned lunch together at The Devonshire in Langwith, where the conversations, memories and laughter continued. 

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate friendships that have stood the test of time and to say a heartfelt thank you to just a handful of the people whose hard work helped create the Premier Community we know today. 

To everyone who has been part of our journey over the past 30 years, whether you worked with us for six months or two decades, thank you. 

Your contribution matters. 

Your legacy lives on. 

And Premier Community simply wouldn’t be where it is today without you. 💚
