Last night was truly extraordinary for our team as we attended the prestigious Great British Care Awards. It was an evening filled with tears of joy, heartfelt stories, and triumphant celebrations. I am absolutely thrilled to share that we came away with two incredible awards and a highly commended recognition—a testament to the passion, dedication, and sheer excellence of our team.
As a family business and CEO, I am immensely proud of what we achieved. These awards not only recognise individual brilliance but also underscore the collective strength of our team. Let me share the highlights of the night with you:
Honouring Our Stars
Sabrina Bennett: Winner of the Home Care Registered Manager Award
Sabrina’s win in the Home Care Registered Manager category was a moment of pure joy. Her commitment, expertise, and unwavering dedication have always been evident to those who work alongside her. To see her hard work recognised on such a platform was nothing short of inspiring. I might be a bit biased, but I can confidently say this award is thoroughly deserved. Sabrina has a bright future ahead, and I have no doubt she will continue to make waves in health and social care.
Sabrina also shared a few words with us to express gratitude to her team and her : “ I truly believe that I wouldn’t be the Registered Manager I am today without the support I receive from my fellow RM’s at Premier Community. Tracy Marsden, Lynsey Hind, and Nikita Sargeant have been pillars of support whenever I needed it. I am also grateful for the guidance and opportunities provided by my manager, Nicola Cope, and the Managing Director, Daniel Isterling, which have allowed me to pursue my passion.
I want to acknowledge that none of this would be possible without the amazing team surrounding me. I am incredibly proud of every member of the Amber Valley team, from my care coordinators to the dedicated care staff who are delivering quality services to our service users, it truly is a pleasure to work with each of you every day.”
Laura T: Winner of the Newcomer to Care Award
Laura’s story is nothing short of extraordinary. Her journey into the care sector has been inspiring and seeing her win the Newcomer to Care award brought tears to many eyes in the room. We hope to share her story soon to inspire others—she is a shining example of resilience and the transformative power of care.
We asked Laura how she felt about this amazing accomplishment on winning The Newcomer Award and she kindly shared a few words with us.
“I just want to say that I’m so grateful to have been nominated in the first place. But to actually go and win is something I never dreamed of happening. I wouldn’t have been here at all if Troi, Emma, Sabrina and Sally hadn’t seen something in me and believed that I would be a good carer.
23 years a lorry driver, what care skills could I possibly have?? Everyone has been so supportive, the carers and care Co’s have backed me all the way and Premier has given me some amazing opportunities. I’ll be forever grateful to each and every one of you. Love and hugs to everyone”
Our Recruitment Team: Highly Commended in the Three R’s Category
A big shoutout to our recruitment team for their highly commended recognition in the Three R’s category (Recruitment, Retention, and Recognition). Their tireless efforts ensure we bring in the best talent, nurture them, and celebrate their contributions. This commendation is a reflection of their outstanding work.
A Night of Celebration
The Great British Care Awards are a celebration of the remarkable individuals and teams who make a difference in the health and social care sector. Being surrounded by so many passionate and dedicated professionals across the East Midlands was truly uplifting. The energy in the room, the stories shared, and the recognition given to those who work tirelessly in our industry made it an unforgettable experience.
Looking Ahead
As we bask in the glow of last night’s success, I want to thank every member of our team who made this possible. To our winners, finalists, and everyone who contributes to our mission, you are the heartbeat of our organisation. Your hard work, compassion, and determination inspire me every day.
And to Sabrina, Laura, and our recruitment team, congratulations once again on this well-deserved recognition. Now, let’s set our sights on the national finals and continue to make our mark in the care sector.
