Great British Care Awards 2024: Premier Community Nominees

The Great British Care Awards are approaching! The ceremony will take place Wednesday 27th November and we are so pleased to announce that we are in attendance along with 7 nominations! We are beyond excited and proud to be up for so many categories. Below is a small brief as to why our brilliant staff have been short listed for a nomination.

The Care Newcomer Award: Laura Thorpe
The summer of 2023 marked the beginning of what would become a remarkable journey for Laura in the care industry. Her dedication was recognised through an impressive tally 0f 23 company recognitions. Premier Community celebrates Laura for not just her achievements but for the profound difference she continues to make in the lives of those she cares for.

The Home Care Worker Award:  Jolene Neal
Jolene is a dedicated full-time team member who is admired, praised, and valued by all who know her. Her colleagues seek her guidance and support, and her managers rely on her for advice regarding service users and scheduling. Jolene’s commitment to helping others is evident, as one colleague expressed, “I don’t get to work with her much now, but she is always there offering any help she can.”

The Home Care Co-Ordinator Award: Kadie Warren
We have two of our team nominated for The Home Care Co- Ordinator Award, first up being Kadie Warren. Kadie had previously worked as a carer in our teams but left to pursue a management role before she re-joined Premier Community in 2023 as a Care Coordinator.

Kadie is incredibly dedicated to providing person- centred care, and her exceptional communication skills make her an inspiring role model for everyone around her. Her impact is not limited to her colleagues and the families of service users; it is also felt across the wider Premier Community.

The Home Care Co- Ordinator Award: Lyndsey Callahan
We also have Lyndsey Callahan nominated in this category. Lyndsey, a dedicated Care Coordinator for our Heanor Care Team, has been an invaluable part of Premier Community for five years.

Lyndsey brings a sense of calm professionalism to the team of Care Coordinators. Her strong work ethic and preference for working behind the scenes to get things done without seeking the limelight truly set her apart.

The Home Care Registered Manager Award: Sabrina Bennet
It brings us great joy to announce that Sabrina Bennet has been nominated for The Home Care Registered Manager Award. Sabrina, a remarkable individual, has had an incredible journey within Premier Community.

Her unwavering dedication to the needs of her service users is truly commendable. Sabrina’s exceptional performance in a recent external audit, achieving good results across all areas, is a testament to her hard work and commitment.

The Three R’s Award: Recruitment Team
As well as these exceptional individuals we have our fantastic Recruitment Team nominated for The Three R’s- Recruitment, Recognition and Retention award. Our recruitment team has been able to support new staff in joining a real community of like-minded and kind-hearted carers.

The team has focused on value-based recruitment to ensure we are hiring staff who align with the wider community values. Our growth and ability to provide life-changing care are due to great recruitment and an improved community culture.

The Care Employer Award: Premier Community
Finally, we are pleased to share that Premier Community are up for The Care Employer Award. Our mission is to provide the very best care centred around the individual. Our method is to do this as one united community built on respect for each role and a passion to do our best.

We have a team of skilled professionals trained in our unique systems, and we are dedicated to ensuring that our frontline care staff provide consistent, respectful, and person-centred care. We work hard to ensure that our staff feel supported, have clear communication channels, and receive the appropriate formal training and supervision level.

We are more than proud to announce all of these wonderful nominees, as it brings us an immense feeling of pride our community is made up of so many wonderful individuals. It is a huge achievement to be short listed amongst a vast range of others, so we would like to congratulate all the above for this remarkable achievement.
