Act 17 of 30: Looking After Our Own
For our latest 30 for 30 act, we wanted to turn our attention a little closer to home.
As a family-run business, Premier Community has always believed that looking after people starts with looking after each other.
With the return to school bringing the usual flurry of uniforms, shoes, bags, stationery and last-minute purchases, we decided to create five £50 back-to-school gifts for employees in our team.
The idea was simple: a small gesture to make this time of year feel a little lighter.
All staff could enter our random draw. With five colleagues, selected at random to receive a £50 voucher to put towards whatever would be most useful for their family as the new school year begins.
There were no big speeches or complicated criteria behind it. Just a practical thank-you to members of our team who give so much throughout the year.
Our 30 for 30 campaign is about celebrating 30 years of Premier Community through acts of kindness, connection and community spirit. While many of those acts have taken us out into the towns and neighbourhoods we serve, this one was about remembering that our own colleagues are part of that community too.
For us, being family-run means more than our history. It means trying to create a workplace where people feel valued, noticed and cared about.
Sometimes that comes through big milestones.
Sometimes it is simply a small gift at exactly the right time.
We hope our five back-to-school surprises brought a smile, helped tick a few things off the September shopping list and reminded our colleagues that they are very much part of the Premier Community family. 💙
30 years. 30 acts. One community. And this time, we were looking after our own.
