Premier Community Strengthens Local Partnership with Gresley Rovers Ladies  

For the past two years, Premier Community has been proud to stand behind Gresley Rovers Ladies, supporting a local football team that shares something important with us: a strong belief in community, opportunity and helping people thrive. 

This week, we paid a visit to Gresley Rovers to see the latest addition to that partnership, our new Premier Community pitch-side sponsorship board. 

As the Ladies’ main kit sponsor, our name has already travelled with the team onto the pitch each week. Now, supporters visiting the club will also see Premier Community represented around the ground throughout the season. 

But for us, local sponsorship has always been about much more than having our logo on a shirt or around a football pitch. 

Backing Our Local Communities 

Premier Community’s South Derbyshire care team is based in Swadlincote, supporting people and families across communities including Church Gresley, Newhall, Woodville, Burton and the surrounding area. 

Being part of those communities means looking beyond the care we provide in people’s homes. 

It means supporting the clubs, groups, charities and individuals that give an area its identity and bring people together. 

Grassroots football does exactly that. 

From players and coaches to volunteers, families and supporters on the touchline, local clubs create friendships, opportunities and a sense of belonging that stretches far beyond 90 minutes on a football pitch. 

That’s why our partnership with Gresley Rovers Ladies has felt like such a natural fit. 

Growing Together 

It’s also been fantastic to watch the Ladies develop during our time supporting them. 

Gresley Rovers Ladies was established in 2023 and made an immediate impact, winning the Leicestershire Women’s and Girls Football League Division Two title during its first season. 

Since then, the team has continued its journey, with Premier Community proud to have our name on the shirt as they have grown and progressed. 

There is some common ground there for us too. 

Premier Community began in 1996 and is celebrating 30 years of care, compassion and community throughout 2026. 

Thirty years ago was also a memorable year in Gresley Rovers history, with the club winning both the Southern League and Derbyshire Senior Cup in 1996. For the 2026/27 season, Gresley has created a special commemorative shirt inspired by that title-winning kit. 

When the Ladies’ version of the shirt is revealed, we’ll be joining that celebration too, with our own Premier Community 30th anniversary logo featuring on the kit. 

Two very different organisations, but two 30-year milestones with community sitting right at the centre. 

We can’t wait to share the finished shirt in the coming weeks. 👕⚽ 

Inspiring the Next Generation 

Perhaps our favourite part of this year’s partnership, however, has nothing to do with advertising. 

As part of our sponsorship, Gresley Rovers kindly provided Premier Community with two complimentary season tickets, giving access to home fixtures across the Ladies’ and Men’s teams. 

Rather than keeping them for ourselves, we knew exactly where we wanted them to go. 

We’ve donated the tickets to young local supporter Willow, who has been inspired by the Gresley Rovers Ladies over the past few years. 

We hope they’ll give Willow plenty more opportunities to head down to the club, cheer on her local heroes and continue enjoying the team that has already made such an impression on her. 

For us, that’s exactly what local partnerships should be able to do. 

Gresley Rovers Girls provides opportunities for girls across a wide range of age groups to get involved in football, with the club placing a particular emphasis on participation, enjoyment and keeping girls within the sport. 

Having visible local role models matters. 

If young supporters can stand at the side of a pitch and see women from their own community competing, succeeding and enjoying football, perhaps they can begin imagining themselves doing the same. 

More Than a Logo 

We’re proud to have our name on the Gresley Rovers Ladies shirt. We’re proud to see our new board at the ground. 

And we’re particularly proud to know that this partnership is helping us play a small part in supporting a club that brings people together within one of the communities our own care teams serve. 

As Premier Community celebrates 30 years, we’re continuing to look for ways to give something back to the places that have supported us along the way. 

Sometimes that’s through care. Sometimes it’s fundraising, volunteering or supporting a local organisation. And sometimes it’s helping a young football fan spend another season cheering on her local heroes from the touchline. 

We’d like to wish everyone at Gresley Rovers, from the Ladies and Men’s teams through to its youth players, coaches, volunteers and supporters, a fantastic season ahead.
