Congratulations to Charly W on starting her paramedic career with the NHS

Our teams are filled with talent, care, compassion, and integrity.

It’s heart-warming to see our team members support each other and create a positive environment for delivering care. While it’s always sad when someone moves on from Premier Community, we know that their experiences here can help them to build amazing careers within the Care Sector.

Recently, we have been coming to terms with the departure of a valued team member. I’d like to introduce you to Charly W from our Clowne, Creswell, and Whitwell Care Team.

Charly’s words on beginning her Paramedic career

Charly joined Premier Community nearly four years ago, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. In a recent conversation, we reflected on her employment journey. She shared, “I applied to Premier Community with the ambition of gaining experience in the care sector. I was very nervous about starting, as I had no previous experience in this field. From the very beginning, I enjoyed the variety of working in different environments each day, meeting many wonderful new people, including service users and colleagues.”

The following September, Charly made a significant decision to apply to university with the aim of becoming a paramedic. The effort and dedication she has shown over the three-year course have been remarkable. Alongside her studies and unpaid work, Charly continued to provide a high level of care to our community. She stated, “My manager has been incredibly flexible, always willing to help me find time to pick up work. The last three years have been incredibly challenging as a student, but having support from family, friends, and colleagues has made it much easier.”

Charly has now completed her course and will sadly be leaving Premier Community to pursue her career in green. “I cannot wait to begin my journey with the green family, but I will dearly miss my Premier Community family! You have all been amazing to me over the last three and a half years!

If I could offer advice to anyone, it would be to follow your dreams because you can achieve them. You are never too old or, as I always say, “too thick.””

We love to see our team members achieve their goals. Sometimes that means they move on to new opportunities. Reflecting on successes like Charly’s, we know we are fostering, encouraging, and developing talent within our community.

Some of our other carers, like Charly, are young individuals studying at university to go onto further career paths such as paramedic’s, nurses, midwifes the list goes on. We are honoured to be a part of that journey for someone who has a genuine passion for caring for others.

Whether it be starting their caring career with us due to previously caring for a family member or having a long career in caring and wanting to continue the journey with us at Premier Community. Charly is just one of our amazing and inspiring stories of venturing off and beginning a career. We are built from many different people with interesting backgrounds and admirable aspirations, some others which we have wrote other articles on to share their stories to inspire and encourage others to peruse what they dream to do.
